Worth 12U girls win softball championship

  The Worth 12U girls’ softball team took first place in the Southwest Interleague by defeating Burbank 12-3 in the championship game on June 29.
  Comprising the Wildcats’ roster were Cassidy McCarthy, Samantha Lhotak, Mikayla Flanagan, Alyssa Stergiopoulos, Genelle Grabowski, Skylar Lisante, Andrianna Patty, Madelyn Powers, Becca Harkala, Savannah Templeton, Hailey Gershon, Kelly Walinski, Kayla Strezo and Diana Vargas. 
 
Palos baseball teams capture Oak Lawn tourney titles
 Two Palos Baseball Organization travel teams captured championships last weekend in the War Off 294 Tournament in Oak Lawn.
  It was an all-Palos finale in the 11-and-Under Division, as the Thunder 11U-Elmosa squad held off the Thunder 11U-O’Leary team to claim the crown. In the 14-and-Under Division, the Thunder 14U-Ladewig club outscored its opponents 70-12 overall en route to a title.
