The 12th annual Winter WonderFest will be presented by Bank of America through Jan. 6 at Navy Pier. Attractions in the 170,000-square-foot holiday playground include ice skating, an indoor Ferris wheel, Cliff Hanger, Extreme Ice Trail Ropes Course, Reindeer Express Train, Kringle Carousel, the Matterhorn Climb & Slide and the Pepsi Create-A-Cookie Cottage. A “Power Wheel” Mini Adventure Track is presented by Jeep and Dodge. There are also slides, obstacle courses, the Snowy Summit Climbing Wall, Winter WonderFest Junior, Winter WonderStage, Wonder Whirl and Zero Gravity.
Admission to Winter WonderFest is free; activity wristbands are required to participate in rides and attractions. Premium wristband are $20 ($19 online) and include ice skating and skate rental), regular wristbands are $16 ($15 online) and exclude ice skating. Parking is 25 percent to 60 percent cheaper with special Seasonal Parking Rates at the Navy Pier self-park garages every day during Winter WonderFest and through March 17. Attendees who purchase at least four wristbands at Winter WonderFest receive free parking with special packages.
Winter WonderFest will also include Winter WonderTown, located near the Arctic Ice Skating Rink. The all-new village is the place where Winter WonderFest characters come out to play, and features Miss Jackie’s Salon, Café Ambrosio, Herald’s Strings and Brass and Theodore Behr’s Emporium. Give your letters to Santa the Postman for special delivery. The Winter WonderStage will feature DJ Mondays on Dec. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, live bands on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
