The Cook County clerk's office has declared an unofficial winner between two write-in candidates in Oak Lawn Community High School District 229.
Stephen Greene received 289 votes to Dan Sodaro's 48 votes, according to the Cook County clerk's office. One of the two write-in candidates was guaranteed a seat on the board of education because only three people were on the ballot for four seats. The clerk's office must certify all election results by April 30.
Sodaro did not fare nearly as well this time as he did two years ago, when as a write-in candidate he nearly beat incumbent Oak Lawn Trustee Bob Streit in the race for the village's District 3 seat.
