Chicago Christian High

Chicago Christian High School, Route 83 and Oak Park Avenue in Palos Heights, will host more than 40 Christian colleges from across the country at the annual NACCAP College Fair from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16. Prospective students can learn about colleges and talk with admission counselors. All high school students and/or parent is welcome to attend. There will also be a brief financial aid seminar. Evergreen Park High

The 4th annual Evergreen Park Community High School Vendor Fair will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11. Vendors are still needed; if interested call Serene Rademaker at 398-1275 for a vendor application or more information.

Moraine Valley

Skiers and snowboarders should start planning for a trip to Keystone, Col., next March 10 to 16. The trip, sponsored by the Moraine Valley Community College Ski/Board Club, is open to persons 18 years and older and their families. Participants do not have to attend Moraine Valley. Student price is $1,165, all other travelers pay $1,175. A $300 deposit is required to hold space and is due when signing up. The first payment of $400 is due by Oct. 1, and final payment is due by noon on Jan. 11. The cost includes roundtrip airfare, transportation to and from the resort, five nights in River Run Village. The cost does not include baggage fees, equipment rental, tips, food, or beverages. Travel insurance is available for purchase and is highly recommended as refunds will not be granted.

Moraine Valley Community College will present a telescope open viewing night Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Viewings will be canceled if the sky is cloudy or there are high winds. All open viewings are held at the telescope dome on the G. Jack Bradley Observation Deck, on the west side of the college’s Nature Study Area off Kean Avenue near 107th Street. Observers can park near the college’s tennis courts and walk the path to the observation deck. Children not accompanied by an adult or supervisor will be turned away. Oak Lawn High

The Oak Lawn Community High School PTSA will hold its annual Holiday Craft Show in conjunction with the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce’s Business Showcase and Jewel-Osco Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at Oak Lawn High School, 9400 Southwest Highway. Jewel-Osco will be offering health screenings including blood pressure and diabetes testing, and flu shots. Proceeds benefit PTSA’s scholarship fund.

Stagg High

The Stagg High School Music Boosters is accepting applications from crafters and artists for the Nov. 10 and Nov. 11 Art for the Season show. Stagg High School is at the intersection of 111th Street and Roberts Road in Palos Hills.

The show is well-attended. Cost is $95 per 80 sq. ft. booth space for the two day run of the show.

Saint Xavier

“Saint Hildegard, Doctor of the Church: Implications for Today” will be presented by Professor Avis Clendenen. Program explores the momentous occasion scheduled to take place on Oct. 7 in Rome when Pope Benedict XVI declares Hildegard of Bingen — a 12th centuryBenedictine Abbess, theologian, mystic, musician, healer and church reformer — the fourth female of 35 doctors of the church. Avis is the author of “Experiencing Hildegard: Jungian Perspectives,” the revised and expanded edition which is to be released in October.
