Evergreen Park

  A 34-year-old woman was charged with theft and obstructing identification after she returned to a store in the 9800 block of Kedzie Avenue from where she had allegedly stolen a cell phone last November.
  Chicona C. Hodges, of Evergreen Park, was arrested at 5:19 p.m. Feb. 23. Hodges reportedly took the phone off of the counter Nov. 24. When she visited the store at a subsequent date, the owner recognized her from video surveillance in November. She was also charged with obstructing identification after she allegedly gave police a false name and birth date.

  A 19-year-old man was charged with retail theft after he allegedly took a pair of women’s work boots with a retail value of $19 from a store in the 2500 block of 95th Street.
  Deon Griffin, of Riverdale, was arrested at 1:01 p.m. Feb. 22.

  A 24-year-old man was charged with retail theft after he allegedly took nicotine patches, condoms and video games with a retail value of $181 from a store in the 2500 block of 95th Street.
  Sharod S. Baker, of Chicago, was arrested at 5:54 p.m. Feb. 24.

  A 19-year-old woman was charged with retail theft after she allegedly took three pairs of shoes and a purse with a retail value of $74 from a store in the 9500 block of Western Avenue.
  Kierra V. Jackson, of Chicago, was arrested at 6:19 p.m. Feb. 23. She was also reportedly charged with obstructing identification after she allegedly gave police a false name and birth date.

  A 29-year-old man was reportedly charged with possession of a controlled substance, reckless conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped the vehicle he was driving at the intersection of 99th Street and Clifton Park Avenue.

  Bryon D. Steimann, of Oak Lawn, was arrested at 5:01 p.m. Feb. 23. He possessed two zolpidem tartrate pills, police said. There was a used, uncapped syringe in the liner of this coat, and a police officer reportedly pricked his finger on the needle while searching the coat. He was also charged with driving with unsafe equipment and no insurance.
