A 36-year-old man was reportedly charged with DUI and speeding after police stopped the vehicle he was driving in the 10300 block of Roberts Road.
Henry Collins, of Hickory Hills, was arrested at 3 a.m. Jan. 20. He was reportedly driving 61 mph in a 35-mph zone. He was also reportedly charged with driving while license suspended, improper U-turn, improper lane usage, squealing tires and no valid insurance.
Attempted burglary was reported at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 16 at a business in the 11200 block of Southwest Highway. A burglary alarm had gone off, police said. Someone had reportedly used large rocks to break the front window and to scratch the tops of glass counters inside the business.
Two burglaries of motor vehicles were reported at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 18 in the 10000 block of 87th Avenue. Tools were reportedly taken from a van. A neighbor of the home where the theft occurred told police an air compressor, wallet and GPS unit were taken from a pickup truck.
Theft was reported from a garage in the 11100 block of O'Gorman Avenue at 7 p.m. Jan. 17. A resident of the home caught a relative taking fishing poles, then realized a scope camera, snowboard boots, snowboard, archer's bow and several tools were also taken, police said. Police were able to locate some of the items at area pawn shops.
Criminal damage to property was reported at 10 a.m. Jan. 20 in the 11100 block of 84th Avenue. The windshield of a vehicle was reportedly damaged.
Criminal damage to property was reported at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in the 10300 block of 84th Terrace. Graffiti was reportedly sprayed on a fence.
Amale Stagg High School student was charged with battery after he allegedly slapped another student at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 18 at the school, 8015 W. 111th St.
A nother boy was charged with battery after he allegedly struck another student in the face at 3 p.m. the same day.
