Deceptive practice was reported at a liquor store in the 10300 block of Roberts Road at 1 p.m. Jan. 7.
A person who claimed to be from "Money Gram International" phoned the store and told employees they would have to be trained how to use a new money gram program. The employees were told to transfer $20,000 into an account in two separate transactions of $10,000, then destroy the receipts.
A 42-year-old man was reportedly charged with DUI after police stopped the vehicle he was driving in the 10100 block of Roberts Road.
David Garrett, of Blue Island, was arrested at 4 a.m. Jan. 13. He was also charged with illegal spinning, squealing and screeching of tires, improper lane usage, and speeding.
