A 23-year-old man was reportedly charged with possession of stolen property after police found stolen property in his coat as he was walking in the 6200 block of 94th Street.

Jeffrey A. Smith, of Oak Lawn, was arrested at 1:40 a.m. Jan. 6 after police received a report of a man rummaging through a van. Smith had two car chargers, 13 CDs, a radio face plate and a set of ear buds in his pockets, police said.

Theft was reported at 9:33 p.m. Jan. 5 a home in the 6200 block of 92nd Place. Clothing, vitamins, 20 1881 Morgan silver dollars and 50 half-dollars worth a total of $1,590, and $200 were reportedly taken.

Burglary to a motor vehicle was reported at 4 a.m. Jan. 9 in the 5900 block of 89th Street. The front driver's-side window worth $150 was smashed, and a radar detector worth $200 was taken, police said.

A 46-year-old man was charged with retail theft and possession of drug equipment after he allegedly took two bottles of liquor from a store in the 9400 block of Pulaski Road.

Limmie E. Varner, of Chicago, was arrested at 2:21 p.m. Jan. 3. Police reportedly found Varner hiding under a vehicle in the 9500 block of Harding Avenue. He had two bottles of liquor, a can of beer and a metal pipe in his coat, police said.

A 20 year-old man was reportedly charged with speeding after police stopped the vehicle he was driving in the 6300 block of 87th Street.

Damian Kowalkowski, of Burbank, was arrested at 1:27 a.m. Jan. 6. He was reportedly driving 75 mph in a 35 mph zone.

A 28-year-old man was charged with retail theft after he allegedly ripped the sensors off three sweatshirts with a total retail value of $149 at a store in the 9600 block of Cicero Avenue.

Patrick R. Carroll, of Oak Lawn, was arrested at 2:55 p.m. Jan. 7.

A 22-year-old man was reportedly charged with DUI after police stopped the vehicle he was driving in the 5600 block of 95th Street.

Deontae R. Sanders, of Chicago, was arrested at 10:57 p.m. Jan. 4.

A 54-year-old man was reportedly charged with retail theft after he allegedly took eight packages with a total retail value of $245 from a store in the 9400 block of Pulaski Road.

Steven Adams, of Chicago, was arrested at 8:58 p.m. Jan. 7.

Retail theft was reported at 5:48 p.m. Jan. 5 at a store in the 10600 block of Cicero Avenue.

A man and woman reportedly took 17 bottles of liquor with a total retail value of $382. The thieves are described as a black man between 30 and 40 years old, balding with brown hair, and wearing glasses and a green or black puffy coat, and a white woman between 25 and 30 years old, with black hair and wearing a black puffy coat.
