Nina Caparelli, 28, and Phillip Z. Triantafillo, 26, both of Chicago, were arrested at 5:24 a.m. Dec. 21. Triantafillo was charged with battery and possession of a controlled substance. He reportedly punched a man in the face and body after the man had driven him and Caparelli to the motel. He also possessed 1.4 grams of heroin.
Caparelli was charged with possession of drug equipment and hypodermic needles for having 10 syringes and one pipe, police said.
