An Evergreen Park man has been charged with felony aggravated battery in relation to an incident in October when he allegedly tried to stab a bar patron with a steak knife.

The charge of misdemeanor aggravated battery against Michael Crofton, 40, was upgraded to a felony Dec. 5.

Crofton, 40, was at Durbin's, 10240 Kedzie Ave. in Evergreen Park, on Oct. 30 when he got into an argument with another patron and attempted to stab him. Crofton was arrested at 12:14 a.m. and charged with aggravated battery.

While in police custody, Crofton allegedly refused to remove a bracelet during a search, and kicked and pulling away from officers. He was also charged with aggravated assault and resisting a peace officer, both misdemeanors, police said.
