By Laura Bollin

A woman was robbed by a person she described as a teenager after the youth rushed up to the car she was driving and threatened to kill the young child she was with as she was withdrawing money at a bank in Oak Lawn.

The robbery occurred at 3:26 p.m. Nov. 23 at a drive-thru ATM at Bank of America, 4046 W. 111th St., police said. The 30-year-old woman reportedly told police the youth ran up alongside her car, displayed a knife and threatened to kill the 4-year-old child in the backseat if she did not give him money. The man got away with $40 the woman had just withdrawn from the ATM.

The woman described the youth as white, about 16 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 130 pounds, police said. He was reportedly wearing tennis shoes, jogging pants, a scarf around his face and a dark coat.
