Oak Lawn

A robbery was reported at a home in the 9700 block of Menard Avenue at 7:42 p.m. Sept. 29.

The robber approached a resident outside the man’s home and asked if he had change for a $10 bill, police said. The homeowner was holding $10 in one hand and $200 in the other, and he robber took the $200 and ran, police said. The robber is described as white, about 20 years old, 6 feet tall, and wearing a black baseball cap, white hoodie and dark shorts.

Battery was reported in the 6000 block of 99th Street at 3:40 p.m. Oct. 1. A man riding his bicycle was hit by a paintball in his left elbow, police said.

Arson was reported at a Salvation Army trailer in the 8700 block of Cicero Avenue at 12:16 a.m. Oct. 1. The trailer worth $7,000 was destroyed, and $5,000 in clothing was burned in the fire, police said.

Burglary to a motor vehicle and criminal damage to property were reported in the 8800 block of Cicero at 11:50 p.m. Oct. 2.

A passenger’s-side window was smashed, and a radio/DVD player was missing from the vehicle, police said. An electronics tower in the vehicle was also destroyed, police said. The radio was worth $350, the tower was worth $200, and the window was worth $100, police said.

Criminal damage to property was reported in the 6200 block of 92nd Place at 11:31 p.m. Oct. 2. A man reportedly told police someone smashed the driver’s side window of his car, and scratched the hood and driver’s side door causing $600 in damage.

Criminal damage to property was reported at a home in the 4900 block of 91st Street at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 4. Someone wrote graffiti on a garage, police said.

A 42-year-old man was charged with possession of a controlled substance after he allegedly sold cocaine inside Rita’s Stop Inn, 9825 Southwest Highway.

Julian Granados, of Evergreen Park, was arrested at 7:40 p.m. Sept. 27. Police reportedly found two plastic bags containing cocaine behind a vent in the vehicle Granados was driving.

Two men were cited for drug-related offenses after police stopped the vehicle in which they were riding in the 6800 block of 93rd Street.

Abedallah Ballout, 20, of Alsip, and Alaa Mustafa Akhatib, 23, of Palos Hills, were each cited for possession of cannabis, police said.

A 26-year-old man was charged with possession of a controlled substance after police allegedly found 35 ecstasy pills in the vehicle he was driving in the 6300 block of 95th Street.

Eric Hernandez, of Chicago Ridge, was arrested at 1:48 a.m. Sept. 30. He was also charged with speeding, police said.

A 25-year-old man was reportedly charged with unlawful use of a weapon after an altercation in the 6600 block of 95th Street.

Shawn Coats, of Franklin Park, was arrested at 11:21 p.m. Oct. 2. He had a set of brass knuckles on his person, police said. He had reportedly gotten into an argument with a friend. No one was injured, police said.

A 24-year-old woman was reportedly charged with DUI and speeding after police stopped the vehicle she was driving in the 6300 block of 100th Street.

Joanne Dlvgopolska, of Burr Ridge, was arrested at 2:18 a.m. Sept. 29. She was reportedly driving 45 mph in a posted 30 mph zone. She was also charged with making an improper turn, police said.

A 25-year-old man was reported cited with possession of drug equipment after police stopped the vehicle he was driving in the 5600 block of 104th Street.

Ernesto Calvillo, of Evergreen Park, was stopped at 9:31 p.m. Oct. 3. He reportedly had a cannabis grinder in his possession.

A 41-year-old woman was charged with retail theft after she allegedly took two razor blades from a store in the 4100 block of 95th Street.

Anna Sandoval, of Oak Lawn, was arrested at 10:58 a.m. Sept. 29. The razor blades had a reported retail value of $37.
