An 18-year-old man was charged with theft after he allegedly took an iPhone from someone in the 8000 block of 111th Street.

Kyle B. Dorner, of Hickory Hills, was arrested at 1:07 p.m. Oct. 5.

Criminal damage to property was reported in the 8500 block of 99th Terrace at 7:59 a.m. Oct. 6. Someone tore through the convertible top of a car and damaged the center console, police said.

Theft was reported at a home in the 11100 block of Spathis Drive at 8:15 p.m. Oct. 6. The homeowner told police two Kiwanis donation cans containing $300 were taken from her garage.

An 18-year-old man was charged with battery after he allegedly punched a person in the face during a fight in the 8000 block of 111th Street.

Jasper Avila, of Palos Hills, was arrested at 1:13 p.m. Sept. 25.

A 19-year-old man was reportedly charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia after police stopped the vehicle he was driving in the 8000 block of 111th Street.

Alphonso Duarte, of Palos Hills, was arrested at 4:17 p.m. Sept. 26. Duarte allegedly fled from police on foot. Police reportedly found cannabis and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Duarte later returned to the area and was arrested, police said.

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 10600 block of 81st Court at 1:08 p.m. Sept. 29. A GPS unit and iPod touch were among the items taken from the vehicle, police said.

A theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 9900 block of Walnut Terrace at 6:10 p.m. Sept. 30. A GPS unit and three broken cell phones were taken from the vehicle, police said.

A theft was reported at a business in the 10100 block of Roberts Road at 12:06 a.m. Sept. 25. A woman reportedly told police she put her phone down while working, and noticed five minutes later that it was missing.

A mailbox in the 10100 block of 80th Court was reported stolen at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 27. The homeowner told police he had recently bought the mailbox to replace one damaged by vandals. Several other mailboxes in the area were damaged, police said.

Criminal damage to property was reported at a home in the 10900 block of Valley Court at 4:37 p.m. Sept. 27. The homeowner heard a loud “bang,” then noticed the window of a sliding door was shattered, police said. A metal pellet was reportedly found next to the door.

A telephone threat was reported in the 8300 block of 99th Street at 6:57 p.m. Sept. 28. The caller threatened to damage trucks at the man’s business, police said.
