A 20-year-old woman was reportedly knocked off her bike by a man who had asked her for money while she was bicycling at a Palos Hills.

The woman was bicycling on a trail at Pleasure Lake, near the old Lake ‘n’ Park property near 108th Street and Roberts Road, at 3:06 p.m. Sept. 26. A man reportedly approached her and asked if she had any money, and when she told him she did not he struck her and knocked her off the bike, then fled. The woman went to the North Palos Fire Protection District, 10629 Roberts Road, to report the incident, police said.

The woman reportedly told police the man appeared to be homeless and may be living in or near the park. She described him as white, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, and wearing a blue polo shirt and ratty jeans.

Palos Hills police officers checked the area for the man but did not find him, and have inquired with area police departments as to whether they had seen anyone matching the description.
