The cable wire to a home in the 10400 block of Mayfield Avenue was reported cut at 1:03 p.m. Sept. 5.

A woman reportedly told police a man came to her home to install cable, then began flirting with her and sending her text messages. The man reportedly told her if she did not respond to the text messages, it would not affect her cable service. The woman reportedly found out the following day that her cable wire had been cut. The cable service man, reportedly known as "Ray," is described as black, about 6 feet tall and 250 pounds, and wearing glasses.

A 32-year-old man was reportedly charged with disorderly conduct after he was found swinging a shovel and swearing in a parking lot in the 4900 block of Columbus Drive.

Joseph Blatt, of Oak Lawn, was arrested at 5:33 p.m. Aug. 31. He was asked to leave a neighbor's house, then retrieved a shovel from his own home and began swinging the shovel and swearing, police said.

A 53-year-old woman was charged with retail theft after she allegedly took a block of cheese from a grocery store in the 5300 block of 95th Street.

Deborah Cipar, of Oak Lawn, was arrested at 1:10 p.m. Aug. 14. She reportedly put the block of cheese and other items in her cart, paid for other items, and then walked out of the store without paying for the cheese. The cheese had a retail value of $15.88.

A 41-year-old woman was reportedly charged with DUI and failure to signal when required after police stopped the vehicle she was driving in the 9800 block of Pulaski Road.

Tracey Lynell Hancock, of Chicago, was arrested at 3:50 a.m. Sept. 1. She was also charged with driving without headlights when required.

A 19-year-old man was reportedly charged with DUI and failure to signal when required after police stopped the vehicle he was driving in the 9100 block of 52nd Avenue.

Jacob Hamilton, of Oak Lawn, was arrested at 2:18 a.m. Sept. 1. He was also reportedly charged with driving without a rear registration plate light, failure to wear a seat belt when required, and driving without insurance.

A 41-year-old man was reportedly charged with DUI, improper turn and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle after police stopped the vehicle he was driving in the 5000 block of Southwest Highway.

Ronald Smith, of Oak Lawn, was arrested at 3:04 a.m. Sept. 4.

An 18-year-old woman was reportedly charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor after police saw her running in an alley in the 5100 block of 92nd Avenue.

Jessica McDevitt, of Oak Lawn, was arrested at 2:31 a.m. Sept. 1.

A 20-year-old man was cited with possession of cannabis and failure to signal when required after police stopped the vehicle he was driving in the 3900 block of 99th Street.

Christopher Wimbley, of Evergreen Park, was stopped at 9:23 p.m. Sept. 1.

A home was burglarized in the 10400 block of Laramie Avenue at 10:57 a.m. Aug. 30. Antique jewelry and $500 in cash were taken from the home, police said.

Theft was reported at a gas station in the 4600 block of 95th Street at 2:43 p.m. Sept. 4. An iPhone with a value of $500 was taken.

Criminal damage to property was reported at Williams Park, 9917 Kostner Ave., at 9:22 a.m. Aug. 28. Someone wrote an expletive on a park bench, police said.
