Joseph A. De Grado
Joseph A. De Grado, died Nov. 10. He was 72. Visitation was held at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills. A funeral Mass was said at Sacred Heart Church. Mr. De Grado is survived by his wife  Ruth; children Joseph Jr. and Lori Ann Carlson and brother James (Barbara) De Grado. Mr. De Grado worked for many years for Cardinal Building Maintenance.

Donald B. Gilbert
Donald B. Gilbert, 85, of Worth died Nov. 4 in Hoffman Estates.
Visitation was held Schmaedeke Funeral Home in Worth. Funeral services were held Friday at Our Lady of the Ridge Church in Chicago Ridge. Burial was at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Lemont.
Mr. Gilbert is survived by his children Roxane and Cassandra Gilbert and Elizabeth Fitzgerald and sister Gladys Ratovich. Born in Chicago, Mr. Gilbert worked as an auto mechanic.

Florence M. Paloucek
Florence M. Paloucek of Palos Park died Oct. 28 at Palos Community Hospital. She was 87.
A memorial Mass was held on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Palos Hills. Private interment was held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Paloucek was born in Chicago. She attended Loretto High School and studied nursing at Loyola University.
Mrs. Florence worked as a neonatal nurse at MacNeal Hospital for more than 20 years following the death of her husband, Dr. Frank Paloucek.
She enjoyed participating in bridge clubs and reading. She was unassuming, devoted, well-traveled and knowledgeable. In later years she lived for Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Downtown Abbey, the news and events of her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. 
Mrs. Paloucek is survived by her children Frank (Sharon), Mary (John) Broderick, Joanne (Henry) Baker, Catherine and John; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made in Florence’s name to the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, P.O. Box 508, Wheaton, Ill. 60187.

Glenn Wyma Jr.
Glenn Wyma Jr., 56, of Palos Hills died Nov. 5 at Palos Community Hospital.
Visitation was Friday at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills followed by funeral services the following day at the funeral home. Interment was at Mt. Vernon Memorial Estates.
Mr. Wyma is survived by his parents, Mary Ann and Glenn Sr.; siblings Patrick (Susan), Joan (Ken) Sawinski, Tom Sr. (Bea), Matthew, Shawn (Amanda) and Timothy (Christine); and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Mr, Wyma was born in Chicago and worked as a manager.

Mike Cassano
Mike Cassano, 86, of Palos Hills died Friday at Palos Community Hospital Visitation was Monday at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills. The funeral was Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church.
Mr. Cassano was survived by children Robert (Teresa) and Maria (Richard) Singer. He was born in Italy and was a stationary engineer and owned a barber shop in Chicago.

LaVerne C. Koschnitski
LaVerne C. Koschnitski, 83, of Palos Hills, died Oct. 15 at Peace Village in Palos Park. A memorial service was held at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Worth. Burial was at Bethania Cemetery in Justice.
Ms. Koschnitski is survived by brothers Leroy, Emil, Edward (Kae) and Wayne (Judy) Koschnitski. Ms. Koschnitski was born in Chicago and worked as a freight tracer. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Virginia “Ginger” Dreger
Virginia “Ginger” Dreger of Worth died Oct. 21 in her home. She was 79. Visitation and funeral services were at Schmaedeke Funeral Home in Worth. Burial was private.
Mrs. Dreger is survived by her husband, Paul; children Mike (Lorene), Jim (Vicki) and Laura Hayes; sister Dorothy (Harry) Boekeloo; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Dreger was born in Chicago and was a homemaker.

William M. Krache
William M. Krache, 90, of Worth, died Oct. 6 in his home. Visitation was Oct. 6 at Schmaedeke Funeral Home in Worth. Funeral services were private.
Mr. Krache is survived by his wife, Willie Krachie; children Beth Krachey, Debbie (Glen) Waszak, Kathy (Rich) Lamonto and William James Krachey; sisters Maxine Erickson and Betty Glover. Mr. Krachey was born in North Dakota and worked as a truck driver.

Gloria Rolnicki
Gloria Rolnicki, 8, of Chicago Ridge, died Oct. 6 at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Visitation was Friday (Oct. 10) at Schmaedeke Funeral Home in Worth. A funeral Mass was held Saturday at Our Lady of the Ridge Church in Chicago Ridge. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Mrs. Rolnicki is survived by her husband, Edwin; and sons Ronald, Raymond (Rose) and Roger (Beverly); five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was born on Buffalo, N.Y. and worked as a teletype operator.

William C. Krachey
William M. Krachey, 90, of Worth, died Oct. 6 in his home. Funeral services were private.
Mr. Krachey is survived by his wife, Willie Krachey; children Betty Krachey, Debbie (Glen) Waszak, Kathy (Rich) Lamonto and William James Krachey and sisters Maxine Erickson and Betty Glover. Mr. Krachey was born in North Dakota and worked for several years as a truck driver.

Irene C. Norbut
Irene C. Norbut, 91, died Oct. 15 at Palos Community Hospital.Visitation and funeral services were held at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills. Interment was at Lithuanian National Cemetery.
Mrs. Norbut is survived by her husband, Ben and daughter Carol (Anthony) Giedraitis. A Palos Hills resident, Mrs. Norbut was involved in many Lithuanian philanthropic organizations and spent many years in the healthcare profession, as a social worker. She was born in Chicago.

 

Kenneth “Kenny” L. Gill
In Loving Memory of Dr. Kenneth “Kenny” L. Gill, aged 89, of Palos Hills, IL, passed away surrounded by his family on October 4th, 2014. Born June 13th, 1925, the first of nine children to Jesse A. Gill (nee Smith) of Ironwood, MI, & William Gill of Cornwall England. His warmhearted, resilient spirit lives on through: his beloved wife and eternal companion of 69 years, Marilyn R. Gill; their 5 children: David Gill (Richard Quigley), Judy Gill-Ordonez (Peter), Bruce Gill, Keith Gill, and Nancy Konior (Raymond); 6 grandchildren: Kristyna Konior (Dave), Elizabeth Cleland (Ben), Tony Ordoñez, Chandler Gill (Courtney), Kate Konior, Jessi Ordoñez; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Tidus, Elise, and Talon Gill; & Niece Kimberly Bogusz nee Olson (Brian).
During his life, Kenneth earned one of few existing Eagle Scout medals and Served as a navigator in the WWII Army Air Forces as Second Lieutenant. After graduating in 1952 from UIC College of Medicine, Dr. Gill worked on staff at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island IL and provided family medical care to residents for 41 years at his family practice in the village of Worth, IL.
A well-respected physician, Dr. Gill achieved Charter Membership in the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition to his pursuits as a devoted husband, father, and doctor, Kenneth’s passion for rose gardening propelled him to grow 125 rose plants at one time while living in Palos Park—a pursuit for which he earned many blue ribbons. Kenneth possessed a rare love for giving to others without ever expecting anything in return. He uplifted others through his distinct, witty British humor and inspired others through his ambitious, perseverant, and generous spirit. As such, he created timeless memories for his loved ones as a devoted and exceptionally loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, doctor, and friend—an unforgettable soul.
