Janet (Ruzich) Becker

Janet (Ruzich) Becker, 80, of Chicago Ridge died last Thursday in Winter Haven, Fla. Visitation was Tuesday at the Colonial Chapel in Orland Park and the funeral Mass was held Wednesday at Our Lady of the Ridge in Chicago Ridge and the internment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Ms. Becker was survived by her husband, Eugene T. “Gene” Becker and children Gregory (Kimberly) Becker and Anita (Larry) Knipper. She was born in Johnston City and was a bank officer.

Thomas J. Czyzewski

Thomas J. Czyzewski, 68, of Hickory Hills died Monday at Christ Hospital. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, at the Palos-Gaidis Funeral Home, 11028 S. Southwest Highway in Palos Hills. The funeral Mass is at 10 a.m., Friday at Sacred Heart Church. Interment is at Resurrection Cemetery.

Mr. Czyzewski was survived by siblings Maryann (Raymond) and Dybala and Bernardine (Ron) Lowell. He was born in Chicago and worked as a printer.

Dorothy “Dee” Fortina

Dorothy “Dee” Fortina (née Raske), 87 of Palos Hills, died July 9 at home. Visitation was Wednesday at the Palos-Gaidis Funeral Home in Palos Hills and the funeral is at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, at the Sacred Heart Church.

Ms. Fortina was born in Chicago and worked as a legal secretary.

Agnes Wittenmeier

Agnes Wittenmeier, 100, formerly of Palos Hills died Friday in Lemont. Visitation is Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 S. Southwest Hwy in Palos Hills. The mass is Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Intermet is at St. Mary Cemetery.

Ms. Wittenmeier was survived by children Mary Frances (Jim) Goetz, Fred (Therese) and Marty (Sue).

She was born in Chicago and was a homemaker.

  Joyce L. Demblon, 76, formerly of Worth died on March 31 at home in Indio Cal. Services were held in Phoenix Ariz. in June 5.
  Ms. Demblon was survived by her children Janice (Jim) Corey and Cathy Cissna. She was born in San Diego.

Rose Sorci
  Rose Sorci, née Vendetti, 90, of Worth, died Monday at Palos Hospital. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 S. Southwest Highway in Palos Hills. The funeral is 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Ridge Church. Interment is at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
  Ms. Sorci is survived by Anthony Louis (Rosie), Rita Marie (James B.) Planey, Donna Rose Sorci and Gregory Peter. She was born in Chicago, worked in sales and was an artist, comedy writer and poet.

Helen C. Thompson
  Helen C. Thompson, née Chrisos, 91, of Evergreen Park dies June 10. Services were private and arrangements were made by Kosary Funeral Home.

Madeleine Ziska
  Madelaine Ziska, née Enderby, 83, of Palos Hills died June 10 at home. Memorial Mass was Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Palos Hills.
  Ms. Ziska was survived by children James (Patricia) and Bill (Barbara) Ziska. She was born in Chicago and was a teacher at St. Albert the Great School in Burbank.

Mary Ann Bailey (nee Tipping), 81, of Worth died May 27 at Christ Hospital. Visitation was May 30 at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills. The funeral was June 1 at New Hope Church and interment was at Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park.

Ms. Bailey was survived by children Keith (Maribeth), Steven (Janice), Diane (Tom) Sinclair, Susan King and Nancy (Tom) Spizzirri. She was born in Chicago and was a homemaker.
Carol E. Clarke
Carol E. Clarke, 68, a former member of Mt. Zion Church in Oak Lawn, dies May 12. Arrangements were made by Kosary Fineral Home.

Michael Fredrek
Michael J. Fredrek, 92, of Evergreen Park died recently. Memorial mass was Saturday at St. Symphorosa FLAG-PINChurch in Chicago. Arrangements were made by Kosary Funeral Home.
Mr. Fredrek was survived by children Kathleen Headley and Patricia Zink. He was an offset pressman at International Harvester and Montgomery Ward and an Army Veteran of World War II.

Valerie Lebensorger
Valerie Lebensorger, 99, of Evergreen Park died recently. Visitation was May 23 at Kosary Funeral Home in Evergreen Park. Funeral service was May 24 at Queen of Martyrs Church and interment at St. Mary’s Cemetary.
Ms. Lebensorger was survived by children Thomas, Susan James, Joan Nammmari, William (Ruth), Fred and Mitzi.

  Gilbert F. Dobslaw, 86, of Worth, died last Thursday at home. The service was Wednesday at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Worth and interment was at Chapel Hill Garden South Cemetery.

  Mr. Dobslaw was survived by wife Gwendolyn (née Bender) and children Kimberly (Robert) Blecke, Alison (Michael) Klimasara and Mark (Tina) Dobslaw. He was born in Chicago, was a salesman and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Allen M. Sommerfeld
  Allen M. Sommerfeld, 62, of Oak Lawn died earlier this month. Visitation was May 14 at Kosary Funeral Home in Evergreen Park and the service was held May 15 St. Peter Ev.. Lutheran Church in Chicago. Interment was at Chapel Hill Garden South Cemetery.

  Mr. Sommerfeld was survived by his sister Karen and children Cheryl (David) Joseph and Dan (Jessica) Sommerfeld.

Edith R. Lathus, 85, of Chicago Ridge died May 9 in Palos Community Hospital. Visitation was May 12 at Schmaedeke Funeral Home and a service was held at the chapel May 13 followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
Ms. Lathus is survived by her children, Susan, Carol, Nancy, Sandy, Michael, James, Lynda, Vince, Lorie and Jeri. She was born in Chicago and was a homemaker.

Robert Vander Veen
Robert Vander Veen of Evergreen Park died April 18 at Christ Hospital. A memorial Mass was held Saturday at Most Holy Redeemer Church in Evergreen Park.
Mr. Vander Veen was survived by Anna (nee Kerner) and children Michael (Gerri) and Edward (Alice) Vander Veen. He was born in Chicago and worked as a truck driver.
