Snow falls for Winterfest

Tyler Borgland, 12, of Hickory Hills, tries out a pair of snowshoes, right, last Saturday at Lake Katherine Nature Center & Botanic Garden's 20th annual Winterfest. The Southwest Suburbs, devoid of any measurable snowfall for the entire winter, finally got some snow in time for the event that features pony rides, ice sculpting and ice bowling, among other activities and attractions.
