Pinwheels planted

Evergreen Park High School students Jasmine Tapia and Destiny Ehteshami were among those who participated in “Pinwheels for Peace,” a project held Sept. 21 in which students created pinwheels decorated with illustrations and their thoughts about world peace, tolerance, and living in harmony with one another. The students planted the pinwheels in front of the school as a public visual statement.

“Pinwheels for Peace” is an annual global event first held in 2005, and which takes place every Sept. 21, the International Day of Peace.
