Smith Crossing memory support groups for caregivers, families
Families and caregivers of seniors living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia can get together with others who share their concerns at a free gathering either Thursday, Oct. 4, at Smith Crossing in Orland Park or Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Smith Village in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood. Both begin at 6:30 p.m.
The hour-long gatherings at the two continuing care retirement communities will be open to questions and comments from the assembled group, and light refreshments will be served.
On Oct. 4 Smith Crossing will screen a short film titled, “The Alzheimer’s Project—Caregivers,” which follows a few caregivers in varying scenarios and captures the obstacles that each have to face daily. This meeting at 10501 Emilie Lane in Orland Park (enter at 104th Avenue and 183rd Street), requires advanced reservations. Call 326-2300.
