The Hickory Hills Park District has openings in its preschool classes. Five-day class is $1,540, three-day class (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) is $860, and two-day class (Tuesday and Thursday) is $695. The Palos Hills Community Resource & Recreation Department, 8455 W. 103rd St. in Palos Hills, will take a trip to Shipshewana, an Indiana Amish community, flea market and historical downtown shopping area on Tuesday, Sept. 24. A trip to see the Tall Ships at Navy Pier will be Saturday, Aug. 10. Tour the ships dockside or sail on Lake Michigan on select ships. Fee is $45 per person and includes general admission, ship tour, transportation and parking. Register by Aug. 3. Trip leaves from the Terrace Centre at 10 a.m. and returns at 5 p.m.
Pickle Ball will be at the Terrace Centre, 11500 Beloit Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. every Tuesday. Pickle Ball is a cross between tennis and ping-pong and involves strategies such as lobbing, drive shots and overhead slams. Cost is $1.

The park district is holding a smile search contest with two ways to participate. All summer long the park district will hide its “Worth Your Smile” logo throughout its website, worthparkdistrict.org. To participate follow “Worth Park District” on Facebook for contest details. Through Facebook participants will get instructions and clues on how to find the logo and report back to the park district. Several online Smile Searches will be held through the summer.
The Terrace Centre, 11500 Beloit Ave., has an indoor playground featuring slides, a climbing wall, tree house and more for children who can walk through 4 years old.
