Beekeeper Talk Marc Korton, a local beekeeper, will be the speaker for the March 20 Lenten Series program at Pilgrim Faith United Church of Christ, 9411 S. 51st Ave. in Oak Lawn. Korton will discuss why bees are essential to food production and what can be done to address America’s bee colony collapse. A soup supper begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the program at 7:15 p.m.
A children’s program, “Making the World a Better Place,” will begin at 7:15 p.m. for children in preschool through eighth grade.

Stargazing at Moraine Moraine Valley Community College will hold a series of telescope open viewing nights beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22. Subsequent viewings will be April 19 at 8 p.m.; May 31 at 8:20 p.m.; June 14 at 8:45 p.m.; July 12 at 8:45 p.m.; Aug. 16 at 8:15 p.m.; Sept. 13 at 7:15 p.m.; and Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Viewings will be canceled if the sky is cloudy or there are high winds. All viewings are held at the telescope dome on the G. Jack Bradley Observation Deck, on the west side of the college’s Nature Study Area off Kean Avenue near 107th Street. Observers can park in lots east of Building P or in the west section of the Building D parking lot and then walk on the path to the observation deck. Children not accompanied by an adult or supervisor will be turned away. Observers should dress for the weather and bring binoculars.
