Worth to remember Dan Braun

By Laura Bollin

The Worth Public Library will hold a remembrance service for late youth services librarian Dan Braun next Monday at Worth Junior High School.

The service will begin at 7 p.m. at the school, 11151 New England Ave.

Braun, known as “Mr. Dan” to library patrons and the youths he mentored, passed away Oct. 3 from a sudden illness. He was 35.

The memorial to celebrate Braun’s life is a joint effort of the library, Worth School District 127 and volunteers. Children will be reading excerpts from Braun’s favorite stories and share a picture slideshow of his life.

Braun started as a page in the library in 2000 and was hired as the youth services director in 2001. He was known for hosting video game tournaments at the library.
