Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle and golfer Billy Casper will tee off the inaugural Conservation Cup Golf Outing, sponsored by the Forest Preserve Foundation, at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13 at the George Dunne National Golf Course in Oak Forest.
The cup will raise funds to expand educational and outdoor adventure activities for disadvantaged children in the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, the first and largest forest preserve system in the United States. Cost is $300 per player or $1,000 per team and includes green and cart fees, lunch, on-course prizes, dinner, drinks, and silent and live auctions.
Preckwinkle and Casper will deliver opening remarks before the 1 p.m. shotgun start, and Casper will offer tips to golfers, sign autographs and take photos. Both will attend the awards dinner which will run until 8 p.m.
Casper is a member of the PGA and World Golf Hall of Fame, won one Masters, two U.S. Opens and four Western Opens among his 51 career PGA Tour victories.
