St. Rita High School held its annual golf outing last week at Glen Eagles Country Club in Lemont. The event brought alumni from all over the country from decades past to come together one last time before the school year starts. The weather was beautiful, the course was beautiful and the players had plenty of opportunities to show off their golf skills. Before the event started, each player had the opportunity to win $5,000 by making three putts of different lengths. They were also able to test their skills on two different holes called “Beat the Pro” and “Beat the Alumni.”
St. Rita is wrapping up its 107th year as a college prepatory school and everyone in the building is looking forward to their 108th, especially newly appointed President Ernie Mrozek. Mrozek was a member of the football team as a student and was also a part of the 1970 Prep Bowl Championship team.
St. Rita’s next major event will take place Aug. 25 at Soldier Field as the football team takes on neighborhood rival Marist High School at 3 p.m.
