JDRF will host its annual Ron Santo Walk to Cure Diabeteson Sun., Oct. 6, with walks scheduled on the Chicago Lakefront, as well as in Libertyville, Schaumburg, Palos Hills, Peoria and Warrenville. The Walk goal is to raise a total of $4.2 million in support of research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.
JDRF is the world’s largest charitable funder and advocate of type 1 diabetes research. The goal of JDRF research is to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing type 1 diabetes. Illinois is the largest of 80 JDRF chapters around the world.
